He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmer Hestad and Inez Hestad (Knudtson); his parents-in-law, George and Ellen Crawford; his siblings-in-law, Leonard Findling, Jimmy Brewer and Sharon Brewer; and his nephews, Michael Brewer and Larry Steffa.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Lynn Crawford; his children, Kevin Hestad (Cindy Johnson) of Washington, PA and Dawn Bruns (Randy) of Mason City; his grandchildren, Sophia, Emma Hestad, Angie Scribner, Mackenzie Poock and Lauren Scribner; his sister Ione Curtis of Marshalltown; and his sisters-in-law, Colleen Findling of Mason City and Mary Crawford of Mason City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Robert "Bob" Hestad Memorial Fund.
