She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles and Rose Haes (Goll); her husband Orval Barkema; her daughter Delores Hrubes; and her sister Doris Olson.
She is survived by: her children, Edwin Barkema (Cheryl) of Garner, Phyllis Spade (Paul) of Goodell and Ivan Barkema (Pam) of Garner; her son-in-law Dean Hrubes of Britt; her grandchildren, Jen Potter (Tom), Karla Rauk (Kevin), Kyle Barkema (Lisa), Justin Spade (Nikki), Elizabeth Bohemann (Scott), Andrew Spade, Jody Korleski (Kelly), Mike Barkema (Marcy), Sheri Hrubes, Amanda Hrubes and Chuck Hrubes; her siblings, Ruth Trampel of Belmond, Bonnie Livingston (Rex) and Dale Haes of Hobbs, NM; and her sister-in-law Viola Barkema of Belmond. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church or Gateway Hospice.
