He was predeceased by: his parents, Oren "Buryl" Thorson and Helen Thorson (Varo); and his siblings-in-law, Lou, Janis, Jane, Tom and Fred.

He is survived by: his wife Carmin; his children, Todd Thorson (Jill) of Lake Mills, Tara Thorson of Minneapolis, MN and Tim Thorson (Erica) of Huxley, IA; his grandchildren, Makenzie Van Ryswyk (Dawson), Dalton, Lane and Kaia Thorson; and his brother-in-law Ken Lein.

Memorials preferred to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.
