It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Byron Stromer of Garner, Iowa, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verner Stromer and Verna Stromer (Alford); his son Douglas; and his brothers, Velere and Lyndon Stromer.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Murra of Garner; his son Kevin Stromer (Bonnie) of Garner; his grandchildren, Brandon Stromer (Libby), Nick Stromer (Victoria), Kristin Stromer and Alex Stromer; his great grandchildren, Parker, Ava Stromer and Maddie Stromer; his brother Val Stromer (Mildred) of Slater; and his sisters-in-law, Juanita Stromer of Garner and Jeanne Stromer of Denver, CO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church (160 E 4th St, Garner, IA 50438).
