She was predeceased by: her parents, Jelto and Margaret Dirksen (Pals); her brothers, Gary and Donovan Dirksen; and her great grandchild Sydney Muff.
She is survived by: her husband Loren Kalkwarf of Garner; her children, Charlotte Hanson of Clear Lake, LuAnn Archer (Mark) of Littleton, CO and Mike Kalkwarf (Maxine) of Garner; her grandchildren, Spencer Klooster (Cali), Justin Klooster (Katrina), Hayley Muff (Andy), Katie Archer (Dayton), Meredith Quandt (Landon) and Marty Kalkwarf; her great grandchildren, Jordan, Logan Klooster, Carolina Klooster, Marissa, Leah, Ben, Ryan Muff, Rylie and Elliot Quandt; and her brother Ron Dirksen (Dorothy) of North Canton, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Ministries in Des Moines.
