It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Suzette D. Schmelzer of Garnavillo, Iowa, who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Larry Ingles and Sheila Ingles (Wistrick); her grandparents, Butch and Mildred Ingles; and her uncles, Barry, Jerry, Kerry, Terry and Rich Ingles.
She is survived by: her husband Rich Schmelzer of Garnavillo; her children, Brooke Steger (Jake) of Elkport and Kristi Chettinger (Travis) of Dundee; her grandchildren, Kota Steger, Ashlynn, Bralie and Kayson Chettinger; her siblings, Lynette Steger (Jeff) of Garber, Jozette Paul (Brian) of Greeley and Joe Ingles (Paula) of Bellevue; and her pets, Bella, Sophie and Rex. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (204 W Oak St, Garnavillo, IA 52049). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (27596 250th St, Garnavillo, IA 52049).
