He was predeceased by: his parents, Verni Bahls and Esther Bahls (Lahrs); his sisters, Wilma Alt and Charlene Horstman; and his nieces, Kathy Alt and Cynthia Kriesler.
He is survived by: his wife Ramona Horstman; his children, Michael Bahls (Tammy), Christy Phillips (Lawrence) and Kimberly Bahls; his granddaughters, Tiffany Ramos, Tara Kennedy (Tyler) and Amanda Phillips; and his great grandchildren, Jovi Ramos, Maia Ramos and Talan Kennedy.
In Lieu of flowers and all other styles of sympathy the family requests memorials to benefit the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garnavillo.
