He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Julie Jordahl (Jon), Beth Young (Stephen), DeAnne Thornton (Mike), Charles Berns (Heidi), John Berns, Barbara Berns (Joe Leone), Rita Koth (Chet), Tom Berns (June) and Nancy Neeley (Scott); and his brother Francis Berns (Fritz) of Englewood, CO..
