He is survived by: his parents, Ernest Westendorf and Selma Westendorf (Vandersee); his former wife Janet Westendorf of New Hampton; his daughter Crystal Westendorf of New Hampton; and his grandchildren, Shelbie McKimmy and John McKimmy Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
