He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Hammond and Hazel Hammond (Wickham); and his siblings, Cleon Fish and Rick Hammond (Hammond). He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Hammond of Fredericksburg; his children, Theresa Johnson (Todd) of Denver, LaVerne Hammond Jr. (Katie Bacus) of Washington and Christine Billingsley (Tom) of Janesville; and his grandchildren, Jordan Hammond, Tanner Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Colton Billingsley and Caden Billingsley. He is also survived by several in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home - Fredericksburg (125 E Main St, Fredericksburg, IA 50630). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Rose Hill Cemetery (699 N Jackson Ave, Fredericksburg, IA 50630).
