He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Steffensmeier and Margaret Schumaker Steffensmeier; his son Michael; his parents-in-law, Aaron and Pauline O'Neil; and his siblings-in-law, Aaron, Floyd O'Neil and Linda Toth.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Steffensmeier of Ft. Madison; his children, Robert Steffensmeier of Allen, TX, Glen Steffensmeier (Meridee) of Mesa, AZ and Kimberly Becker (Steve) of Aurora, IL; his grandchildren, Nicole Hernandez, Megan Steffensmeier, Lauren Steffensmeier, Scott and Damon Becker; his great grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Hernandez; and his brothers, Marvin Steffensmeier (Emma Jean) of Fredericksburg, VA and Roger Steffensmeier (Helen) of Ft. Madison. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the King-Lynk Funeral Home (3507 Avenue L, Fort Madison, IA 52627). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
