He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Patterson and Edna M. Patterson (Hayes); his son-in-law Brian Healey; his stepdaughter Jerri; and his siblings, Evelyn Spike (Howard), Frank Patterson (Verla), Willy Patterson (Judy) and Darlene McClellan.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Patterson of Fort Dodge; his daughters, Debbie Healey of Fort Dodge and Terri Jones of Ankeny, IA; his stepchildren, Barb, Terri and Holli; his grandchildren, Jonathon, Ashley, Breanne, Chantal, Logan and Ethan; and his siblings, Ellen Patterson, Bob Patterson and Dave Patterson (Rachel). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.
