She was predeceased by: her husband Bob Butterley; her parents, Lavern Peterson and Carol Peterson (Halverson); and her brother Lavern Jr. "Pudgie" Peterson. She is survived by: her siblings, Richard Peterson (Linda) of Ames and Anita Peterson Michael of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
