He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hayes and Luella Hayes (Elsberry). He is survived by: his siblings, Sarah Hayes of Fort Dodge, Paul Hayes of Council Bluffs and John Hayes of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
