He was predeceased by: his daughter Chris Deheart; his siblings, Mildred Elam and Robert Cartee; his brother-in-law Wayne Bockoven; his parents, Clifford Cartee and Ruth Cartee (Dugan); and his former wife Gloria Marshall.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Cartee, Sheri McLuckie (Brian), Cindy Dodge (Marshall), Cathy Bell (Roger), Ed Black (Karla), Cheryl Smith (Mike) and Greg Black (Stephenie); his siblings, Denise Bockoven and Malcolm Cartee (Gloria); his siblings-in-law, Marcia Chapman, Gaylord Marshall (Judy) and Linda Cartee; and his wife Jean Black. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.
