He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Edgar Hilgendorf and Evelyn Hilgendorf (Lawrence); his wife Rose Ann; his stepsons, Michael Christiansen and Grant Swan; his grandson Anthony Swan; his siblings, Linda Frey (Hilgendorf) and J. Karl Hilgendorf; and his nieces, Julie McCaulley (Meyers) and Sue Wiczkowski (Frey).
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Schrauth (Steven) of Fort Dodge, IA, Theodore Hilgendorf (Karen) of Isanti, MN and Theresa Hilgendorf; his grandchildren, Andrea Blagg (Kevin), Aaron Thompson, Sarah List (Duncan), Nicole Ford (Jordan), Matthew Hilgendorf, Rebecca Hilgendorf, Jessica Moffitt (Ty), Alexandria Leffler and Macenzie Leffler; his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Kaitlyn Blagg, Emily, Caleb List, KyMaree, Karter Wheat and Zayne Fletcher; his sister Ann Meyers (Craig); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Frey, Susan Hilgendorf and Lora Balzhiser. He is also survived by 5 nieces & 2 nephews.
