He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sr. Merz and Evelyn Merz (Hart); his siblings, George and Jane; and his niece Wendy.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Smith; his children, Candace Merz and Nathan Merz (Tara); his grandchildren, Kailee, Kaleb, Hannah, Cassandra, Laura and Sarah; his brother Frank Merz Jr. (Joan); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Kunz (Mike) and Sherry Merz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
