He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kolesar and Mary Kolesar (Struhar); and his brothers, Emil and Julius. He is survived by: his wife Vernetta Westphal; his daughter Jonice "Jo" King of Rockwell City; and his grandchildren, Adam King (McKenzi) of Urbandale, Frankie and CiCi.
