With solemn reverence, we commemorate Joan Horn of Fort Dodge, Iowa, born in Hartland, Minnesota, whose life came to an end on November 8, 2024 at the age of 92, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Horn; her son-in-law Wally McCubbin; her brothers, Joe, Dan and Wayne McMahon; and her parents, Joe McMahon and Inga McMahon.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Horn (Celine) of New Brighton, MN, Greg Horn (Connie) of Fort Dodge, Maureen McCubbin of Liberty, MO, Mary Herrmann (Brian) of Eagle Grove, Mark Horn (Robin) of Gilbert, AZ and Carolyn Nelson (Chad Street). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home (307 S 12th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501). A Mass was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (2501 6th Ave N, Fort Dodge, IA 50501).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Friendship Haven or Holy Trinity Parish, both of Fort Dodge.
