He was predeceased by: his father James William Sr.; and his wife Judy. He is survived by: his mother JoAnn Nelson (Kvale) of Goldfield; his former wife Christine Fredrickson; his mother-in-law Judy Milliken; his children, Kenny Nelson (Brittany) of Hawaii and Nickedda Conklin (Bradley) of Scranton, Iowa; his stepchildren, Brenda Nelson (Boyd) of Clearwater, FL, Anthony Trueblood of Fort Dodge, Kenneth Trueblood (Kathy) of Fort Dodge and Cyndee Westrum (Rob) of Otho; his sister Jody Reeb (Jerry) of Maxwell; his niece Morgan (Chris); and his grandson Braxton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed towards the Special Olympics.
