He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Purkapile and Jean Marie Purkapile (Nelson); and his significant other Judith LaBaume. He is survived by: his son James "Jamie" Herbert Purkapile III (Karla) of Fort Dodge; his stepson Jerry LaBaume of Fort Dodge; and his grandchildren, DeAnna Studer, Desiree Farnsworth, Skyd Purkapile, Marleena Purkapile Orr, David Orr, James H. Purkapile IV and Serenity Purkapile. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
