He is survived by: his wife Barb of Fort Dodge; his children, Jay Ertl, Shawn Rodenborn (Alan) of Fort Dodge, Cam Ertl (Renee) and Barry Ertl of Peoria, AZ; his grandchildren, Nicholas Ertl, Cody Rodenborn (Jessica), Courtney Ertl (Amanda), Brennan Ertl, Gavin Ertl, Emma Ertl (Taryn) and Caleb Ertl (Kaetlyn); his great grandchildren, Wesley, Ryder Rodenborn and Beckett Winkler; and his siblings, Nancy Horstmeyer (Bob), Margaret Laird and Charles Ertl (Judy).
Jim's wish was to donate his body to science.
