He is survived by: his parents, Jessie Lara and Linda Lara of Fort Dodge; his children, Leah Bryand (Cordero) of Riverbank, CA, Angelica, Alana and Chase Lara of Fort Dodge; his brother Jeff Lara (Sheila) of Marion, IA; his fiancée Christine Johnson; his fiancée's sons, James, Andrew and Brandon; his grandchildren, Bayleiy Lara, C. J. and Beacon Bryand; his niece MacKenzie Lara; and his nephew Nicholas Lara. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
