It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Kern of Fort Dodge, Iowa, born in Austin, Minnesota, who passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his sister Ann Baker; and his parents, Adam Kern and Catherine Kern (Winters). He is survived by: his wife Judy; his sons, James Allen Kern (Amy) of Des Moines, Jeffery Kern (Wendy) of Boone, Jon Kern (Deb) of Fort Dodge and Jay Kern of Indianola; and his sisters, Betty Dutcher of Fort Dodge and Helen Munn of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Paula J. Baber Hospice Home or Almost Home Animal Shelter.
