He was predeceased by: his wife Verna Kreimar (Nickie); his parents, Julia Metzger (Peterson) and Ben Metzger; and his sister Leona Meppen. He is survived by: his daughters, Lynne Metzger (Don Locke) of Maple Grove, MN and Kay Miska (Ed) of Maple Grove, MN; his brother Vern Metzger (Vira) of Palmer, IA; his sister-in-law Shirley Wagner of Enid, OK.; his grandchildren, Jenni Miska (Mehdi Kennar), Andrew Miska, Ryan Deering (Jeni), Eric Deering and Kelsey Deering; and his stepgranddaughters, Brandi Locke Klinkner and Marissa Locke. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (615 N 15th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the First United Methodist (127 N 10th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501). A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the North Lawn Cemetery (2201 N 15th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501).
