He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Hoover and Dorothy Hoover (Belknap); his sons, Barry (Debra) and Brooke (Lila); his wife Beverly Kay; his siblings, Cliff (Bonnie), Jerry Lou and Shirley; his grandchildren, Bradley, Erin, Brian and Melody; and his great grandchildren, Isabelle and Ayla. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
