He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Vit and Gladys Vit (Sawyer); and his brother-in-law Bill McTaggart. He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Lacina (Doug) of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren, Mya Kersten (Jack) of Fort Dodge, Anthony Lacina of Fort Dodge, Christopher Lacina of Fort Dodge, Samantha Vit of Fort Dodge, Jeremy Crimmins of Fort Dodge, Dave Crimmins (Ashley) of Dubuque, Jim Crimmins (Liz) of Boone and Keri Froisland (Kirk) of Fort Dodge; his great grandchildren, Grace, Mara, Tyler, Kaden, Karston, Callie, Mack and Daphne; his great great grandchildren, Saylor and Kalvin; his friend Bruce Carlson; and his siblings, Thomas Vit (Ellen) of Fort Dodge, William Vit (Becky) of Fort Dodge and Patricia McTaggart of Coralville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home (307 S 12th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501). A Mass was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (2501 6th Ave N, Fort Dodge, IA 50501).
