He is survived by: his wife Patricia of Fort Dodge; his sons, Matthew Bednar (Mary) of Iowa and Mark Bednar of Iowa; his grandchildren, Joseph Bednar (Kate), Emily Bednar (Par Svensson) and Brita Bednar; and his great grandchild Elliot Francis Bednar.
