He was predeceased by: his son Edmond Jr.; his siblings, Richard, Raymond, Elaine Owen and Delores Vedvig; and his parents, Iver M. Svaleson and Grace E. Svaleson (Hale).

He is survived by: his children, Georgeann Morrison (Bruce), Hartley, David Svaleson (Geri), Elysian, Minn, Michael Svaleson (Connie), Winona, Robert Svaleson (Kristi) and Hoveland; and his wife Kathryn Crouch. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
