He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Monahan and Eleanor Cleland; his sister-in-law Mary Monahan; his nephew Chad Gilbert; and his parents, Joseph Monahan and Loretta Monahan (Sedlmeier).
He is survived by: his children, Renee Monahan-Huisenga of Auburn, Seith Monahan (Erin) of Urbandale and Sam Monahan (Niki) of Lake View, Iowa; his grandchildren, MaKenna Huisenga, Ayden Huisenga, Layne Huisenga, Emma Monahan, Elise Monahan, Miley Monahan, Macy Monahan and Dane Monahan; his siblings, Paul Monahan (Paulette) of Fort Dodge, Robert "Bob" Monahan of Fort Dodge, Susanne Odendahl of Fort Dodge, Lucy Balke (Roger) of Fort Dodge, Raymond "Ray" Monahan (Debbie) of Fort Dodge, Annette Michehl (Keith) of Fort Dodge, Patrick Monahan (Laura) of Sedalia and BJ Gilbert of Altamonte Springs, Florida; his close friend Nancy Brown; and his former wife Michelle Dodd.
