He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Birkey and Mariruth Birkey (Anderson); and his grandparents, Dorance, Elsie Birkey, Luicia Anderson and Ted Anderson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kayla, Erica and Aspen; his stepfather Dean VonTersch of Fort Dodge, IA; and his siblings, Steve Birkey (Nicole) of Manson, IA, Luanne Beckman (Mike) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Roland of Murfreesboro, TN and Matt Birkey (Chris) of Clearwater, FL. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (406 S East St, Pomeroy, IA 50575). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
