He is survived by: his brothers, Dale Kvale (Sonja) of Alexandria, MN and Thomas Kvale (Barbara) of Cologne, MN; his children, Shellie Kvale (Peter Halligan) of Oelwein, IA, Bryon Kvale of Forest City, IA and Heidi VanEvery (Daniel) of Salem, AL; his son-in-law Matthew Kerr of Graham, NC; his grandchildren, Tony McDermott, Katelyn Cuesta, Erin McDermott, London VanEvery and Jude Kerr; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Aurora and Wylan Cuesta; his niece Janna Ballard (Kevin); and his nephews, Dirk (Heather), John, David and Peter Kvale.
