He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Franklin and Ovedeia Franklin (Palmer); his parents-in-law, Maynard and Dorothy Moretz; his son-in-law Bradd Gangsei; his sister Kathy (Ed Shepard); and his brother-in-law Jimmy Moretz.
He is survived by: his wife Janette Moretz; his children, Robin Franklin of Abilene, KS, Jeffrey Franklin (Holly) of Kellogg, IA and Rachael Gould (Rome) of Hanlontown, IA; his grandchildren, Shannon Ottman (Steve), Nicole Reickman (Ben), Amanda Gangsei, Lindsi Bredeson, Brandy McRoberts, Alexa Franklin, Casey Franklin, Haley Franklin, Logan Franklin, Devan Franklin, Kaitlyn Franklin, Nicholos Karaluis (Britney) and Alexander John Aguirre; his stepgranddaughters, Caitlyn and Abigail; and his sister Karen Cassells (Don). He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
