It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mavis Arlene Johnson (Forest City, Iowa), who passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Brue and Manda Brue (Holstad); her husband Delbert Johnson; her parents-in-law, Ole and Marie Johnson; her siblings, Elaine Hetland (Art) and LaVerne Brue (Gloriann); and her siblings-in-law, Dean Sunde, Floyd Johnson, Don Johnson, Arnold Lodin, Herbert Osterholtz, Gladys Lodin and Judie Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheryl Kingland (Tom) of Lake Mills, Valerie Lackore (Brian) of Forest City and LaDonna Rider (Andy) of Henderson, Minnesota; her sister Joann Sunde; her sister-in-law Betty Johnson; and her grandchildren, Bob Bluem (Stephanie), Amy Woodward (Brad), Jeff Kingland (Tara), Missy Flippin (Derrick), Justin Lackore (Sandy), Andy Rider (Christa), Jason Rider (Erin) and Jenna Arkins (Chris Nessett). She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (18508 IA-9, Forest City, IA 50436). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mavis Johnson Funeral Service.
