He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland "Jack" Compston and Anna Laura Compston (Clark); his parents-in-law, Tilman Hill and Marie Hill (Wikan); and his siblings-in-law, Gary Hill and Maryann Hill.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Compston of Forest City; his daughter Catina Kinney (Scott) of Grimes, IA; his grandchildren, Brendon Kinney (Jennifer) of St. Joseph, MO and Abigail Kinney of Ames, IA; his great grandchildren, Emric and Emersyn Kinney; his siblings-in-law, Tom Hill (Kathy), Tracey Sutton (Jim) and Lynn Thornton (Kevin); and his brother Bill Lamping (Manette). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Forest City United Methodist Church (305 S Clark St, Forest City, IA 50436).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Forest City United Methodist Church, or to donor's choice.
