He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Messer and Annamae Messer (Allison); and his siblings, Leo Messer and Ann Dorothy Davis. He is survived by: his wife Verla of Forest City; his children, John Messer (Sue) of Littleton, CO, Janice Koppen (Ron) of Algona and Chuck Messer (Audrey) of Forest City; his granddaughter Jenna LeFleur (Mark); his great grandchildren, Rohan, Asher, Emma Saige LeFleur and Tasha Herron (Daniel); and also, Jude, Lily, Shiloh Herron, Ryan Waltman, Jack Lester, Randy Waltman (Jessie), Hayden and Noah Waltman.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to United Methodist Church Faith Village after school program.
