He is survived by: his parents, Robert Benson and Katherine "Jesse" Benson (Rollefson); his siblings, Lynn Benson (Marcia), Randi Benson, Steven Benson (Susan) and Lori Tomasek (Brian); his nephews, Sheldon Benson, Travis Benson, Aaron Benson, Logan Benson, Cole Benson and Hunter Benson; and his aunts, Marjorie Anderson, Dorothy Etzen and Julianne Tosel. He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces and nephews.
