She was predeceased by : her parents, Morton Howard and Frances Ann Longenecker (Anderson); her husband Delano Chafa; and her sisters, Janet Coffman, Ruth Gunther, Donna Fetters and Thelma Meyer.

She is survived by : her children, Wade Chafa (Sue Allspach) of Des Moines and Maria Vincent (Travis) of Urbandale; and her grandchildren, Nicole Jimenez (Victor), Tia Chafa, Callan Vincent and Alexa Vincent. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
