He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan V. Thompson and Charlotte Thompson (Heyn); his siblings, Joann, Marlene Fries and Delbert Thompson; his brother-in-law Ron Fries; and his stepfather Keith Goodale.

He is survived by: his children, Todd Thompson (Amy) of Bridgewater, Tammy Jensen (Roger) of Fontanelle and Tom Thompson (Kathy) of Fontanelle; his grandchildren, Jake Thompson (Danie), Kristyn Mercer (Clay), Jeff Thompson (Cameo Walker), Melissa Vorrie (Derek), Matt Jensen (Tiffany), Brett Thompson (Taylen) and Kyle Thompson (Sara); his niece Kim Douthit (Fries); and his nephew Kelly Fries. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

Memorials: To the Lloyd "Doc" Thompson Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
