She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Voorst and Darlene Van Voorst (Beach); her husband Donald Hughes Sr.; her nephew Dean Rodenburgh; and her niece Stephanie Van Voorst.
She is survived by: her children, Isabella and Leon; her siblings, Evelyn Rodenburgh of Le Mars, Linda Van Voorst (Phillip Meier) of Le Mars and Denny Van Voorst (Cheryl) of Le Mars; and her stepchildren, Patricia Baxter (Howard), Marla Barfield (Brad), Doni Dee Stokes (Arden), Don Jr. Hughes (Yong), Susan Samek (Kevin), Robert Hughes (Janice) and Sandra Graf. She is also survived by several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home - Le Mars (107 12th St SE, Le Mars, IA 51031). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Memorial Cemetery (1100 3rd St SE, Le Mars, IA 51031).
