He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Borchers and Alice Borchers (Wilhelmi); his parents-in-law, Theodore and Julia Nilles (Luken); his wife Bonnie Borchers of Mary's Catholic Church; his siblings, Gayle Borchers, Belva Gaffey, Beverly Borchers, Janice Carte, Shirleen Borchers, Verla Jozens, Velda Alt, Vikki Borchers, Dianna Borchers, Louis Borchers, Rodney Borchers and Marvin Dean Borchers; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Nilles, Carol Lang (Dick), Jim Nilles, Charlie Brown and Elmer Klein.
He is survived by: his children, Harlan Lee Borchers (Kristen) of Council Bluffs, Julie Holck (Mark) of Le Mars, Robbie Borchers (Bobbie) of Elkhorn and Bradley Borchers (Pam) of Sioux City, Iowa; his grandchildren, Benjamin Borchers, Christopher Borchers (Sandra), Brian Ogle (Matt), Jacob Holck, Nathan Holck, Brittany Yardley (Michael), Brandon Borchers, Alex Borchers (Kylee), Ashley Jensen (Noah), ReAnn Merrill (Chester Scofield), Alyssa Borchers and Natalie Merrill; his sister Veronia Borchers; and his siblings-in-law, Jan Klein, Diana Brown (Glenn), Dan Nilles (Sandra), Nancy Brown, Gene Nilles (Myra) and Jean Nilles. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the All Saints Parish – St. James (109 6th Ave SW, Le Mars, IA 51031). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
