He is survived by: his brother Pete; his wife Beverly Brown Shay of Le Mars; his children, Genelle Dixson (Jake) of Sioux City, IA, Dr. Ruth Shay of Fort Collins, CO, Dianne Shay of Sioux City, IA and Merle Shay (Becky) of Le Mars, IA; his grandchildren, Michelle Wright, Jakie Anderson, Doug Martin, Tonya Galles, Dawn Martin, Stephanie Shay-Overholser, Kyle Shay and Amanda Shay-Brookhart; his brother Mark Nilles (Jean) of Le Mars, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Nilles of Kingsley, IA, Julie Nilles of Madison, SD and Judy Nilles of Le Mars. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
