It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Louise Lamphier of Fayette, Iowa, born in Stanley, Iowa, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clement Hannan and Margaret Hannan (Oakes); her husband Robert W. Lamphier; and her siblings, Elaine Britten, Jan Rhoades, Jim Hannan, Joe Hannan, Wayne Hannan, Dick Hannan, Kay Bouck, Marge Miller and David Hannan.
She is survived by: her children, Denise Lamphier (Charlie Clements) of Grinnell, Janel Lamphier of Urbandale, Iowa, Bill Clark of Fayette and Tammy Clark of Sumner, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jordan Lamphier (Kate Burnette), Bryce Lamphier Meier (Courtney Lamphier Meier), Margaret Lamphier Meier and Emory Clements; her great grandchildren, Dominik, Aaliyah, Tatum, Myles and J. J.; her sister Mildred Smith of Waterloo, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Linda Post, Cindy Lamphier of Sumner, Linda Hannan of Oelwein and Debbie Hannan of Fairbank; and her nieces, Brie (Cheese), Doughnut, Chipotle and Sunshine (Basil).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be directed to Fayette Community Library, UnityPoint Health — Grinnell Regional Medical Center, or the Iowa Democratic Party.
