Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Conrad Pleis of Fayette, Iowa, born in Allison, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 95, on June 12, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pleis and Tracy Pleis (Schrage); his grandson Aaron Novak; his siblings, Herman Pleis, Abel Pleis, Fred Pleis (Lorraine), Tom Pleis, Louise Reiter (Ernest), Ettalena Hein (Otto), Jake Pleis (Norma) and Maebena Klenzmann (Clarence); his niece Karen Bachman; his nephews, Roger Hein, Delbert Volker and Al Bachman; and his great-niece Crystal.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Pleis of Fayette; his daughters, Lillian Novak (Jim) of Oelwein, Shirley Thompson (Jim) of Gladbrook and Jane Wells (Dick) of Arlington; his grandchildren, Julie Westendorf (Nathan), Heather Morden (Chris) and Casey Wells (Tricia); and his great grandchildren, Macy, Kyla, Kenna Westendorf, Jayden and Delaney Wells. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks will be required at the church.
Memorials may be directed in his name to St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington.
