He was predeceased by : his father Merlin Ritter McAllister; and his son Jason Robert McAllister. He is survived by : his wife Karen R McAllister; his mother Sylvia A McAllister; his sister Marcia A McAllister; his former life partner Darlia Simmons; his children, Donald Patrick McAllister (Tracy McAllister), Tera Lynne McAllister-Krueger (Erich Krueger) and Jeremy Todd McAllister (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Thane Marquis Grooms (Karen), Troy Marcus Grooms (Suzanne), Tye Marius Grooms and Todd Marcell Grooms; and his great grandchildren, Donnie, Tracy McAllister, Jacob, Ashley, Sabrina, Adam Wright, Austin, Owen, Lauren, Trisha, Victor Ruiz, Adalynn, Aaliyah, Watson, Alicia McAllister, Christian Lobendo, Caytlynn, Tera, Erich Krueger, Jack, Naomi, Jeremy, Jennifer McAllister, Dalton, Troy, Suzanne Grooms, Brandon, Katie, Tye Grooms, Skylier, Trever, Tristin and Sara. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.

There will be private interment of ashes later in the Farragut, IA Cemetery and memorials will go to the Fremont County Reserve Deputies or the Farragut Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.
