He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Maher; his parents, James Francis (Frank) and Wilma Rose Maher (Coy); his siblings, Michael, Roger, Robert, Jeremiah, Matthew Maher, Mary Morton and Denise Donnelly; and his nephew Brent Maher.

He is survived by: his siblings, Patricia Connelly, William Maher, Duane Maher, Douglas Maher and Sandra Bugg.
