He was predeceased by: his parents, Ned G. Walterman and Julia Walterman (Hanson); and his brother Brian Walterman. He is survived by: his siblings, Marquette Walterman of Ottumwa, Iowa, Prudence Wallace of Morning Sun, Annabell King of Oklahoma and Karla Runquist of Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
