He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Pence (Woody) and Helen Sherman Pence; and his siblings, Roger, David, Ronnie, Sheldon, Anono Widner and Gwendolyn Schiedel.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Pence of Pleasant Plain; his children, Megan Smith of North Liberty and Nicholaus Pence of Pleasant Plain; and his grandsons, Owen Smith and Harrison Smith of North Liberty.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cranston Family Funeral Home - Fairfield (2805 W Burlington Ave, Fairfield, IA 52556).
