With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wayne Thornsberry of Fairfield, Iowa, born in Kirksville, Missouri, who passed away on October 24, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Thornsberry and Vercie Fern Thornsberry (Deberry); his sister Anne Helmick; and his grandson Drew Thornsberry. He is survived by: his wife Judy Kay Freeman; his sons, William Shaw of Fairfield, David Thornsberry (Karoline) of Douds and Jon Thornsberry of Cantril; his grandchildren, Ryan Thornsberry (Seaira), Sarah, Taylor and Zane Thornsberry; and his niece Kathy Shafranek.
His contributions to the planning and development of Lake Sugema were significant, and he found great joy in spending time at the lake, which held a special place in his heart.
