He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Eklund and Vera Leathers Eklund; his daughters, Julie McCracken and Tracy Symmonds; and his sisters, Mary Roland, Ruth Hoover and Shirley Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Brobst (Troy) of Jefferson, IA and Jim Eklund (Kathy) of Fairfield, IA; his stepsons, Eric Koffman and Paul Koffman of Fairfield, IA; and his siblings, Larry Eklund, Connie Barton and Linda Clemmons. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fairfield Friends Church (1209 S 6th St, Fairfield, IA 52556). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in Dick's honor may be directed to the Fairfield Friends Church or to Hospice Compassus.
